Massive Ocean Object Leaves Mysterious Trail Across the Pacific Seafloor
Roughly 3,000 feet below the surface of the North Pacific Ocean, a strange object appears to be crawling across the seafloor.
Spanning an estimated 2.5 to 2.8 miles in diameter, the circular structure has left behind a meandering trail that stretches more than 40 miles, suggesting a deliberate path—not something easily explained by ocean currents or natural movement patterns. And yet, despite its size and prominence, no one can say with certainty what it is.
According to observations made using Google Earth coordinates off the coast of California, the structure resembles a giant disc, and it moves—zigzagging across the ocean bed, seemingly under control. Video footage and screenshots show what look like massive trenches carved in the seafloor, flanked by shadows that reinforce the illusion of depth and mass, the Daily Mail reports.

A 2.5-mile wide circular object was found on the Pacific seafloor.
Tracking the Path of the “Crawling Circle”
The path this object has taken is clearly visible on Google Earth: a long, snaking groove in the seabed that does not align with known tectonic activity or standard sonar anomalies.
Tyler, the voice behind the channel SecureTeam10, measured the trail at more than 46 miles long and emphasized the unnatural shape of the route. If the object were simply a boulder or sonar glitch, he argued, the track would be straight. Instead, it weaves like something under intelligent control, winding its way toward a larger structure that resembles a base or docking area, Express reports.
The circular mass also seems to align with a cluster of other anomalies in the vicinity, including doughnut-shaped impressions and a strange clearing. In Tyler’s words, “it’s like a driveway leading up to a mansion.”
Over 90% of the world’s oceans remain unexplored.
Is This a Sonar Glitch or Something More?
Not everyone is convinced this is evidence of alien technology. Some geospatial experts have suggested that what we're seeing is an artifact of outdated sonar stitching on oceanographic maps. Bathymetric data often leaves gaps or overlaps that form strange images when interpolated by mapping software. As one commenter pointed out in Surfer, the anomaly might just be “digital potholes”—visual noise resulting from layered sonar scans.
Still, skeptics have yet to account for the apparent consistency in size and curvature of the trail and the object itself. The circular formation is eerily symmetrical, parked at the end of a deliberate-looking path that crosses terrain with no known seismic features.
Similar anomalies have vanished from Google Earth before.
Aliens or Misinterpretation?
Alien hunters, of course, have their own theories. Some believe this could be a saucer-shaped craft—2.81 miles across—traveling beneath the ocean under its own power. Others see it as evidence of a buried base, potentially connected to other strange underwater findings like the Sycamore Knoll anomaly off the coast of Malibu that mysteriously vanished from online maps, Surfer reports.
And it’s not just fringe theorists paying attention. Reddit users have cataloged multiple posts analyzing similar formations on the ocean floor, with thousands weighing in on what it could mean. Some suggest the Pacific may hide far more secrets than the sky ever will.
A Sea of Unknowns
Over 70% of Earth’s surface is ocean, and more than 90% of it remains unexplored. That reality fuels much of the mystery here. Whether this is an enormous geological quirk, an artifact of sonar mapping, or something far stranger, one thing is certain: We simply don’t know.
And until someone sends a submersible down to take a direct look, all we have are digital images, coordinates, and questions that ripple through the scientific and conspiratorial communities alike.
