Product Subscriptions
You can easily manage or cancel your product subscription anytime by logging into your account: https://shop.freetheocean.com/account.
If a subscription has already triggered an order, that order will be fulfilled. You can then return it for a refund by following our standard return policy above.
We're confident you'll love your plastic-free products! However, if you're not completely satisfied, you can return or exchange items within 90 days of purchase.
Our Return Policy
To return an item within 90 days of purchase, please mail it, along with the packing slip, to:

You'll be responsible for the cost of return shipping. Once we receive your item, we'll process your refund promptly. Unfortunately, if 90 days have passed since your purchase, we can't offer a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition as you received it. If you receive a defective or damaged item, we'll gladly issue you credit or replace it with the same item.
Order Cancellations & Modifications
We process orders quickly to get your products to you as fast as possible. We'll do our best to accommodate requests to cancel or modify an order within one hour after it's placed. However, cancellations and modifications aren't possible once an order has been processed.
For security reasons, we can't redirect a shipped parcel to a different address. If a shipper can't complete delivery to the original address provided, the parcel will be returned to our fulfillment center and processed as a standard return.
Exchanges
If an item is defective or damaged (which is very rare!), we're happy to exchange it for the same item.
Refund Processing
Once we receive your return, refunds are promptly issued to your original payment method, typically within 3-5 business days of receipt. Please note that original shipping costs are not refunded.

Within the United States, standard flat rate shipping is $4.95 for orders under $25, and $5.95 for orders $25 and over.
As a small business, Free the Ocean doesn’t have access to the deeply discounted shipping rates that larger companies enjoy. Many big brands offer “free shipping” by building the cost into their product prices. While we’ve considered this approach, we choose to keep our product costs fair and our shipping charges transparent—so you always know exactly what you're paying for.
We also support non-profit organizations for every product purchased, funding the removal of plastic from the ocean and coastlines.
We package all of our products with 100% plastic-free shipping materials. From water-activated paper tape, compostable shipping labels, and post-consumer boxes to recycled padded mailers, every part of your FTO package is compostable, reusable, or recyclable.
Please allow 1-2 business days for your order to process and ship from our FC, then the full estimated delivery window for receipt.
Orders are typically delivered in 7–10 business days after leaving our fulfillment center. Express flat rate shipping is available for $20.00 with delivery in 1–3 business days. You’ll receive your tracking number as soon as your order ships.
Absolutely! As soon as your items are packaged and shipped, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. It may take 24 hours for tracking updates to appear. If you have questions or concerns about the status of your order, email us at info@freetheocean.com for help.
We're so sorry to hear your package may be lost/stolen! Below are some steps to take and things to consider...
- Wait another day – USPS delivery trucks are equipped with GPS tracking that may accidentally mark a package delivered, when it has not yet been dropped off. This isn’t uncommon. If your package is showing “delivered”, but you have yet to receive it, give it another business day and there’s a good chance it will arrive shortly.
- Look around – If you don’t see it in front of your door, check your back door, side of the house, under bushes & trees, apartment lobby or mailroom, and with neighbors that may have received it by accident. Packages that aren’t at their usual delivery spot can sometimes show up in unusual places.
- Contact your local USPS – If you’ve waited an extra day for your delivery and searched every logical place it might be but to no avail, now is a good time to reach out to your local post office for more guidance. They will be able to provide more detailed tracking information and confirm with their warehouse and mail carrier as to whether the package was indeed delivered yet.
- Request lost mail search – You can also request a USPS lost mail search for uninsured mail at https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm to help locate your missing package.
