All cards are made with plantable seed paper — a biodegradable eco-paper that is made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials collected from schools and businesses (no trees harmed in the making!). The cards are printed with water-based inks (~80%). The remainder of the ink is pigments, which are tested by a 3rd party lab to ensure they do not leave harmful residues in soil. The only other ingredient? Seeds!
The paper includes 7 different types of wildflowers seeds, including:
Bird's Eye - Annual
Clarkia - Annual
Black Eyed Susan - Perennial
Catchfly - Annual
Snapdragon - Annual
English Daisy - Perennial
Sweet Alyssum - Annual
- soak the seed paper in water overnight.
- loosen the soil (outdoor) or fill a pot with potting soil (indoor).
- remove a light layer of soil and place the seed paper.
- add the light layer of soil back over the top of the seed paper to retain moisture.
- water generously, especially for the first 4-6 weeks.
- enjoy your wildflowers!
I ordered a set for Mothers' and Fathers' Days respectively. Unfortunately, due to COVID and my Canadian location, the cards were not here in time for Mothers' Day, and still not here a couple weeks later. Because it looked the like the cards were stalled somewhere in the US, FTO offered to send me another pack. I'm not sure which one came first, but both eventually arrived, and they graciously declined my second payment. Both my parents were thrilled by the cards and getting to plant them, and we're all awaiting the flowers (or photos in my case). Thanks for the excellent service and the great products. Hopefully before too long we really will have freed the ocean of plastic!
Great product! I gave these cards for several occasions, (and still do) now the people I gave them to are now giving them too. Great concept, any age person will love to receive these cards. Couldn't make planting any easier! AND supports a very worthy cause. Save the planet!!
Loved the plantable cards. All my friends who I sent them to loved them too. Great idea.
These cards are perfect to send as a "little something" to a friend, family member, co-worker, etc. The fact they become beautiful wildflowers is a lovely bonus; enjoyed by not only the recipient but our bee friends as well. One of the best ideas, ever.
